Cisco officially turned 3 today.  Inspired by all the 2009 Westminster dog show clips I watched today, I figured PJ and I should really treat him as if he just won the coveted Best in Show award!  I decided to bake him a nice little birthday cupcake that’s dog-friendly and extraordinary:

The “cake” base is actually cornbread batter.  I lined the inside of a cupcake mold with a strip of bacon in order to make the bacon “cup.”  As for the faux frosting, I blended the living crap out of some cottage cheese with a bit of vegetable in order to get a frosting consistancy.  Sprinkled some kibble and voila!– an hour of work for a mere 5 seconds of complete obliteration.

Of course I made Otis one too.  I mean, c’mon, it wouldn’t be fair.

Hi Karen,

Forgive me for being completely off-topic on your blog here and I mean no offense when I say this, but do you know what’s happening with 1up and Game Videos right now? Are the guys just messing around collecting their monthly pay-cheques because they’ve not got anyone directing them to do anything in particular right now? Couldn’t someone or some of the very talented people there take charge and make the content great again?

The game nights are fine, but I rarely make it through one and I’m just trying to work out exactly what’s going on.

I just think there must be loads of people like me who continue to visit the site daily in the hope of some revised regular scheduling and there’s a huge opportunity for someone to get it all up and running again.

Again, sorry to hi-jack your blog.

You know, I really don’t know. I’m sure they have some great programming in the works. I’m sure 1UP is still trying to get through the very difficult corporate transition phase right now. But I do know that the surviving 1UP staff are working their butts off.
